Privacy Policy for Tashkeel AI

George Bahry ("we", "us", or "our"), an individual developer based in Lebanon, operates the Tashkeel AI mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We want to process as little personal information as possible. However, to provide our Service and manage subscriptions, we may collect the following:

• Anonymous Authentication: The App uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign an anonymous user ID automatically. No sign-in or sign-up is required, and we do not collect your email address or password for authentication.
• Usage Data & Analytics: We may collect anonymous diagnostic and usage data (such as app crashes, performance data, and feature usage) to help us improve the App.
• Advertising Data: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements to users on the free tier. AdMob may collect and process certain information, such as your device identifier (e.g., Advertising ID) and approximate location data, to provide personalized ads.
• Purchase and Subscription Information: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. We collect anonymous user IDs and receipt information. We do not process or store your credit card information; all payments are securely handled by Apple and Google.
• User Content: The text you input into the App for processing (diacritization). To ensure fast performance and continuously improve the accuracy of our service for everyone, we may securely cache this text. This helps us refine and enhance the underlying technology that powers the App.
• Document Images: When you use the document-scanning feature, the photos you capture, select, or share to the App are sent to our servers and processed by our AI service providers solely to extract the Arabic text in them. We do not store the images — they are used only to extract the text and are then discarded, and our providers do not retain request content. Camera access is requested only when you choose to scan a document, and you may pick an existing photo instead.
• Device Identifier: To prevent abuse of the free tier, the App collects an identifier that stays linked to your device even if you reinstall the App (this is not your advertising ID). We store it on our servers only in a scrambled, one-way form that cannot be traced back to you or your device. It is never used for advertising or tracking and is never shared with third parties.
• IP Address: We log your IP address to enforce usage limits and prevent abuse of the free tier.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for various purposes:

• To provide, maintain, and improve the App.
• To process and manage your subscriptions and in-app purchases.
• To display advertisements via Google AdMob (for free tier users).
• To develop and enhance our underlying algorithms to provide you with better, more accurate text processing results.
• To provide customer support.
• To monitor the usage of our App and detect, prevent, and address technical issues.
• To enforce free usage limits fairly and prevent fraud or abuse of the service.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and services to facilitate our App, perform App-related services, or assist us in analyzing how our App is used. These third parties have access to your data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Our core third-party providers include:

• Apple (App Store) & Google (Play Store): For app distribution and processing payments.
• RevenueCat: For managing subscriptions and in-app purchases.
• Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements.
• Google Firebase: For backend infrastructure, database, authentication, and analytics/crash reporting.
• AI Processing Providers: Process the text and document images you submit for diacritization and text extraction. They act strictly on our behalf under zero-retention policies and do not use your content for their own purposes.

We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policies of these third-party service providers.

4. Data Security

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data (such as relying on reputable cloud infrastructure providers), we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us so we can take necessary actions.

6. Your Data Rights

We do not store data linked to your identity — all server-side records are anonymous and cannot be recovered or deleted once the App is removed. Deleting the App removes all data stored on your device; the scrambled device identifier used for abuse prevention (described above) remains on our servers.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
